New Delhi, September 1: Union Home Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah will address the party's 'Maha Janadesh Yatra' in Maharashtra today. The 'Maha Janadesh Yatra' is being undertaken by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in a bid to connect with people ahead of the Assembly elections in the state. Before joining Fadnavis in Solapur, Amit Shah will inaugurate several projects at the SSR College in Silvassa. He will then leave for Solapur where he will address the rally in the evening.
Gearing up for the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will launch a 'Jan Samwad Yatra' today in the national capital. The 'Jan Samwad Yatra' will take the party's message to the people and interact with them at locations across the city until October 3. On the first day, Delhi Cabinet Minister and AAP convenor in Delhi, Gopal Rai will interact directly with the people at locations across the city and answer their questions.
At least five people were killed, including a shooter, in a shooting incident in the Midland-Odessa area, US state of Texas on Saturday. Initially, it was suspected that two persons were roaming around the city shooting random people, however, the Odessa Police Department said one shooter was killed and "the threat has been contained". As many as 21 people were also injured in the Texas shooting.
