Amroha: 23-Year-Old Woman Alleges Gang-Rape by 2 CRPF Personnel at Farmhouse, All Accused Arrested

A 23-year-old woman has alleged that she was gang-raped at a farmhouse in Uttar Pradesh’s Amroha district by two CRPF personnel and two other men. Police have registered an FIR and arrested all four accused, officials said. The incident reportedly came to light late on September 22 and in the early hours of September 23, when the Hasanpur police station received information about a woman being allegedly assaulted at a farmhouse. Police teams reached the location and took the woman to safety.

According to Amroha Superintendent of Police Lakhan Singh, the woman had come to the district with two acquaintances identified as Mohit and Lalaram, who are employed with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). The group had gone to meet another acquaintance, Sanjay, at a guest house, while another man, identified as Pramod, had brought food for them. Police said an FIR was subsequently registered based on the woman’s complaint. All four accused were taken into custody and questioned as part of the investigation. Further details reported by PTI said the four accused include two CRPF personnel and two Uttar Pradesh Police personnel. The alleged incident took place in the Hasanpur area of Amroha, at a farmhouse on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road. According to the complaint cited in the PTI report, the woman had travelled from Haryana after being introduced to one of the CRPF personnel. She allegedly travelled with the accused before being taken to the farmhouse.

The complaint alleges that three of the men assaulted her and that the fourth man subsequently attempted to assault her. She allegedly managed to lock herself in a room and contacted the police. Police teams from Hasanpur and Rajabpur reached the farmhouse after receiving her call and apprehended the accused, PTI reported. The Amroha police have registered a case under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including provisions relating to abduction or enticement and gang rape, according to the PTI report.

The four accused were subsequently arrested and remanded in judicial custody. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident and the individual roles of those accused. Departmental action has also been initiated against the Uttar Pradesh Police personnel named in the case, while a report has reportedly been sent to senior CRPF authorities concerning the two CRPF personnel. Police have also questioned the manager of the farmhouse as part of the investigation. The alleged incident occurred at a property reportedly located on the Atrasi-Hasanpur road. The case remains under investigation, and the allegations against the accused are subject to judicial proceedings.
