Guntur, January 5: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers on Saturday clashed in Guntur town of Andhra Pradesh. The clashed broke out when TDP workers were protesting against BJP after some BJP workers obstructed the convoy of the AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in Kakinada yesterday. TDP Compares PM Modi to ‘Anaconda’ Who Is Swallowing National Institutions; BJP Calls Chandrababu Naidu ‘King of Corruption’.

According to ANI reports, the protest was staged outside BJP state president Kanna Laxminarayana's residence. The BJP leaders tried to resist the protest which led to tension. Later, Laxminarayana condemned the TDP protest in front of his residence and alleged that TDP activists had come to kill him. The tension has been rising among the two parties after TDP pulled out its support from National Democratic Alliance (NDA) last year for not fulfilling the promises made to Andhra Pradesh during the state bifurcation.
