A shocking crime has emerged from Macherla, where a 32-year-old woman government employee was allegedly brutally assaulted and raped inside her home on Thursday afternoon. The accused, an unidentified man, reportedly entered her house on the pretext of asking for drinking water before carrying out the horrific attack.

According to police, the incident took place between 3:30 pm and 4 pm. “The accused entered the survivor’s house by asking for some drinking water. He then forced himself on her,” said Macherla police inspector Venkata Ramana. The survivor was initially rushed to a local hospital and later shifted to Guntur Government General Hospital for advanced treatment. Doctors confirmed that her condition is stable. “Her condition is stable. Police said the woman lived alone, as her nephew was away in Sattenapalli after his exams. The crime came to light when the nephew could not reach her by phone and alerted relatives, who later found her unconscious at home.

Andhra Pradesh Police have launched a massive manhunt. Palnadu district SP B Krishna Rao stated, “We have deployed special teams to analyse CCTV footage and other clues from the scene of the crime. Our officials have identified a suspect and a manhunt has been launched. The accused will be arrested soon.”

The incident has sparked outrage in the region, with local MLA Julakanti Brahmananda Reddy expressing shock and urging swift action. Authorities have assured that strict measures will be taken to ensure justice for the survivor.
