Five minors have been apprehended by the Ashok Vihar police in connection with the stabbing death of a 34-year-old man in northwest Delhi. The victim, identified as Bansi Lal, a resident of Udham Singh Park near the Wazirpura Industrial Area, succumbed to multiple stab wounds following an altercation on Thursday night.

Stabbing Incident in Delhi

The incident occurred near Prem Bari Pul, towards Keshavpuram, at approximately 11:00 PM on Thursday, July 9. Police teams arrived at the scene and rushed the victim to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Preliminary investigations suggest the confrontation was triggered by an argument after the victim was allegedly seen defecating in the open near the canal, an area frequently used by local residents. "It led to an altercation during which one of the minors took out a long knife and stabbed him multiple times in the chest, abdomen and limbs due to which he collapsed on the ground. Police Investigation and Breakthrough

In a swift operation, the Ashok Vihar police station launched an investigation, scanning CCTV footage from cameras installed near the crime scene. The footage captured a group of boys fleeing the vicinity immediately following the attack. Within hours of the incident, investigators identified and apprehended all five minors. During the investigation, authorities also recovered the weapon allegedly used in the commission of the crime. A murder case has been registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the matter is currently under further investigation.

This incident is part of a series of recent violent outbursts reported in the northwest Delhi region. Authorities continue to urge residents to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the official emergency channels.
