Plants Theft in Baghpat

CCTV Footage Captures Expressway Plant Theft

Viral CCTV video shows a car stopping on the highway. A man then gets out of the car and approaches a plant planted in the middle of the expressway. The man is seen attempting to pull the plant out of the ground.

After removing the plant, it is lifted and placed in the trunk of the car, and the car then moves on. The sequence of events was recorded by high-definition surveillance cameras installed along the corridor to monitor highway safety.

Controversy Over 'POLICE' Signboard on Vehicle

The car is the most talked-about in the video. The viral footage shows the word "POLICE" written on it.

However, official confirmation of whether the car actually belongs to the police department and who the person in it was has not yet been released. Local social media users and commuters have questioned the blatant misuse of law enforcement insignia on private or unauthorized vehicles, urging traffic authorities to trace the vehicle's registration number via FASTag and expressway toll sensors.

Authorities and highway patrol units are examining the camera feeds to identify the car and verify the credentials of the driver.
