Residents in several parts of Bengaluru will have no water supply for 15 hours, from 6 am to 9 pm on July 31, as the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) carries out emergency repair and maintenance work on the Cauvery Stage V transmission pipeline. The shutdown is set to affect over 107 localities across the city, and residents have been urged to store sufficient water in advance.

Why The Water Cut Is Happening

BWSSB said the emergency repair work became necessary after a leak was detected in the scour valve of the 3,000 mm transmission pipeline under the Cauvery Stage V Water Supply Scheme. The pumping station will remain shut during the repair work, disrupting supply across multiple parts of the city.

The civic body has asked residents in the affected zones to use water carefully during the shutdown period and plan ahead to avoid inconvenience. School Holiday Tomorrow: Will Schools Remain Open on July 31 Amid IMD Heavy Rain Alerts?
