During the regulatory check at Cafe Mondegar, inspection officials cited multiple operational non-compliance issues. Regulatory teams documented improper temperature controls for food storage—noting that hot items were not kept above 60°C and cold storage fell short of the mandatory sub-5°C standard. The inspection report further highlighted improper thawing techniques, slow cooling processes for cooked items, inadequate kitchen drainage near food processing areas, damaged flooring, and poorly sanitized equipment. Alongside the legendary Colaba venue, three other local food businesses had their operational licences revoked after failing to meet prescribed public health guidelines.
