Delhi: Man Kills Wife Over Suspected Affair, Dies by Suicide After Consuming Poison
Investigators said the accused was driven by suspicions that his wife was involved in an extramarital relationship and confessed to the crime in a phone call to his sister before his death.
A 28-year-old man allegedly killed his wife by repeatedly striking her with a storage battery in outer Delhi's Ranhola area before dying by suicide after consuming poison, police said on Saturday. Investigators said the accused was driven by suspicions that his wife was involved in an extramarital relationship and confessed to the crime in a phone call to his sister before his death, as reported by TOI. According to police, the incident surfaced on July 2 after a Police Control Room (PCR) call reported an attempted murder at Tilangpur Kotla village in the Ranhola area.
Responding officers found the woman critically injured inside the house. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Preliminary investigation indicated that she had suffered fatal head injuries after being attacked with a heavy storage battery.
