Delhi Shocker: Father Kills Unmarried Pregnant Daughter in Chambal River Over 'Family Honour'

The Delhi Police have arrested two men, including a father, in connection with the alleged abduction and murder of his pregnant daughter, whose body was thrown into the Chambal River near Agra, officials said. The matter came to light on July 31 when the Tigri Police Station received a PCR call reporting that a young woman had been killed by her father. Following the alert, police registered a case of abduction and murder and launched an immediate probe. According to the police, the primary accused, identified as Lakhpat Singh, allegedly conspired with a relative after learning that his unmarried daughter was pregnant. Fearing social stigma, the duo concocted a plan to eliminate her. Investigators revealed that the accused forcibly took the victim to the banks of the Chambal River near Basoni in Uttar Pradesh's Agra district. Following technical surveillance and interrogation, the Delhi Police traced and arrested both Lakhpat Singh and his accomplice. While both accused are currently in police custody undergoing further questioning, local authorities and search teams have been deployed along the Chambal River near Basoni to locate the victim's body. Operations to recover the body remain underway, and further investigation into the sequence of events is in progress.
