Chennai, May 4:  A remarkable feat unfolded at the Government Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine in K K Nagar as Thansen K, a 30-year-old man who lost both his hands in an accident, drove off in his red Swift, cheered on by doctors and medical staff. On April 22, Thansen achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first double-hand amputee in Tamil Nadu to obtain a driving license. The Chennai North Regional Transport Office (RTO) granted him a 10-year license to drive a modified car, following certification from doctors at the Institute of Rehabilitation.
