Their bodies were discovered at Flat 103 in Tower 7 of the M3M Marina residential society in Sector 68, Gurugram, on October 15, 2026. After receiving the email, company officials contacted the landlord, who reached the apartment and alerted the Badshahpur police. When the police arrived, Aslam was found hanging from a ceiling fan, while Farhana was lying dead on the floor with injury marks on her neck.
Murder Case Registered, Forensic Investigation Underway
Police have registered a murder case under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint by Farhana's brother, who alleged that Aslam killed his wife before taking his own life. The registration of the case marks a formal step in the investigation, while the precise sequence of events is still being examined.
Investigators recovered a note from the apartment carrying the words “We are leaving this world”. The words “I love you” were also reportedly found handwritten on Farhana's clothes. Police seized electronic devices and other items from the apartment for forensic examination. The material reportedly includes laptops, mobile phones, a diary, a pen drive, a rope and scissors. Couple Had Moved From Bengaluru to Gurugram
Aslam and Farhana were originally from Kerala and had moved to Gurugram from Bengaluru around three months before the incident. The couple had married in 2023. He worked for an IT company in Gurugram, while Farhana was also associated with the technology sector, according to reports.
Family members reportedly said they were unaware of any marital discord between the couple. Relatives also said Aslam had been receiving treatment for depression for around one-and-a-half years. Some family members have suggested that work-related pressure may have contributed to his distress. However, this remains a family suspicion and has not been established as the cause of the incident.
Police are continuing to investigate the case, including the evidence recovered from the apartment and the circumstances preceding the deaths. The exact motive remains unclear.
