Following cross-complaints by both parties, local police registered an FIR against Aishwarya under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for assaulting a public servant and obstructing official duty.
The clash reportedly stemmed from a dispute regarding direct entry into the inner sanctum of the temple. According to police officials, Sub-Inspector Savitha B. Patil, attached to the Mandya Women’s Police Station, was posted at the venue to handle crowd management amid heavy turnout. Around 4:30 PM, Aishwarya arrived at the temple accompanied by two young children and requested immediate entry without waiting in the standard line. When the sub-inspector advised her to wait briefly to avoid crowd disturbance and opposition from queuing devotees, an argument broke out. The recently surfaced CCTV clip depicts a heated verbal exchange, during which Aishwarya appears to make a phone call before slapping SI Savitha Patil. The footage shows the police officer briefly retaliating before onlookers and security personnel stepped in to separate the two. Based on SI Patil’s official statement, the Kyathanahalli police registered a case against Aishwarya, citing charges of assaulting a public servant on duty, causing hurt, intentional insult, and criminal intimidation. Meanwhile, Aishwarya filed a counter-complaint alleging that the officer had verbally abused her during the confrontation, which law enforcement officials confirmed is under investigation. Addressing the media following the viral video, BJP MLA B. Suresh Gowda publicly acknowledged his daughter's mistake and extended an unconditional apology on her behalf. Stating that individuals in political families must practice restraint, Gowda urged law enforcement to carry out a fair investigation and take appropriate legal measures. Gowda further spoke out against preferential treatment at places of worship, advocating for an end to VIP protocol systems at temples to prevent similar conflicts between security staff and visitors.
