A property dispute in Lucknow has taken a disturbing turn after a man was filmed allegedly taking the thumbprint of his deceased father on blank sheets of paper in connection with a land dispute. The deceased, identified as Chhatrapal, 75, had been living with his daughters after allegedly being driven out of his ancestral home by his son, Mahendra, and daughter-in-law Laxmi. Family Dispute Over Ancestral Property
In 2023, the couple were allegedly forced out of their ancestral home and subsequently stayed with relatives. The following year, Chhatrapal moved in with Suman and his two other daughters. The daughters took care of their parents and provided them with regular support.
According to the family, Chhatrapal subsequently transferred one bigha of land to each of his three daughters from his total holding of around 6.5 bighas. He also publicly disinherited Mahendra and his wife from his movable and immovable property through a newspaper notice, reportedly citing their alleged mistreatment of him and his wife. Father Dies Two Days After Being Taken to Village
Suman said her father's health deteriorated on July 7, following which she informed Mahendra. Mahendra arrived in Lucknow with his family and took Chhatrapal to the village, saying he would arrange medical treatment for him.
Chhatrapal died on July 9, just two days later. When Suman and other family members reached the village for the funeral, they faced further abuse from Mahendra.

It was during this period that relatives and villagers saw Mahendra taking his deceased father's thumbprint on blank sheets of paper.
Suman's husband, Ramesh, said the family was shocked to see the thumbprint being taken from Chhatrapal's body and questioned what the blank papers would subsequently be used for.
The episode has raised concerns within the family over the possible use of the thumbprint in connection with the disputed property. The circumstances surrounding the papers and whether they were subsequently used for any legal or property-related purpose would need to be established through an investigation.
The video of the alleged incident has since circulated on social media, bringing renewed attention to the dispute between the family members.
