A 60-year-old man in Chandrapur’s Neri village allegedly disguised his voice as a female government official to coerce a widow into s*xual relations. Invoking astrology and divine wrath, the suspect pressured the woman to approach her neighbor, who was the suspect himself. Police have registered an offense against Dattu Pise, who remains absconding as investigation continues.
A 60-year-old man allegedly disguised himself as a female government official, invoked astrology and 'divine powers' and threatened a widow with divine wrath to pressure her into having s*xual relations with her neighbour in Neri village under Chimur taluka in Chandrapur district. The scheme unravelled when the victim listened to auto-saved audio files on her deceased spouse’s mobile device and identified the speaker as her immediate neighbour, Dattu Pise.
The Times of India report said the victim’s statement indicates that the deceptive communications originated from two separate phone numbers starting in May 2026. Exploitation of Personal Horoscope and Astrology Details
To build trust, the imposter referenced specific personal details, including the woman's birth date, astrological chart, and Vastu arrangements.
Once credibility was established, the caller asserted that a local resident held spiritual authority and warned that refusing physical intimacy with this individual would bring curse-like consequences upon her household. The caller added that complying would guarantee a prosperous path for her son. Phone Logs Unmask Local Resident
Distressed by the repeated demands, the woman reviewed the recorded conversations stored on her late husband's phone.
Recognising the distinct speech patterns, vocabulary, and phrasing, she identified the caller as Pise. She then realized that the purported female bureaucrat was Pise using a modulated voice, and that the neighbor she was being coerced to meet was Pise himself.
Local authorities have formally registered a case and are actively attempting to locate the suspect. "An offence under relevant sections of law has been registered against the accused, identified as Dattu Pise, He is presently absconding, and we are confident that he will be arrested very soon," said Dinesh Labade, Police Inspector, Chimur police.
Pise, formerly VP of a prominent political party's local unit, is currently office-bearer of an agricultural society under Chimur Agriculture Market Committee.
