Panaji, February 23: The Agriculture Minister of Goa, Vijai Sardesai, on Saturday rejected the media reports that claimed that Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's health deteriorated further and he is on life support. Sardesai, however, refused to say the current health condition of Parrikar. Sardesai, a non-BJP minister in the alliance government, made this statement after spending half an hour at Parrikar's Panaji residence. 'Manohar Parrikar Should Honourably Resign or Rather Give Charge to Somebody', Says Goa Congress Legislator Reginaldo Lourenco; BJP Hits Back.

Speaking to IANS, When asked about Parrikar, Sardesai said "I am not a doctor, I discussed a lot of things with him, including politics and clearing of files. I don't think it (Parrikar's health) is as bad as it is made out to be." Ailing Goa CM Manohar Parrikar Will Continue in Office As Long As He Is Alive, Says Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo.

Earlier there were rumours that Parrikar's health deteriorated after a team of doctors were spotted at his residence on Friday night. Soon after, the CMO tweeted that Goa CM met some bureaucrats and clarified files related to some key projects. However, sources said that Parrikar was suffering from breathlessness over the last two days and had been administered oxygen artificially.

Earlier in February 2018, Parrikar was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer and has been in an out of hospitals in Mumbai, Delhi, Goa and New York.
