Mumbai Mega Block on July 5: Will Local Train Services Be Affected?

Mumbai's Harbour Line will witness a mega block on Sunday, July 5, between Kurla and Vashi from 11:10 am to 4:10 pm, leading to the suspension of several local train services. Central Railway will run special trains between CSMT-Kurla and Vashi-Panvel. There is no daytime mega block on the Western, Central Main, Transharbour or Uran lines.

Mumbai local train commuters using the Harbour Line will face disruptions on Sunday, July 5, as Central Railway has announced a scheduled mega block between Kurla and Vashi for maintenance work. During the six-hour block, several Harbour Line services will remain suspended, while special trains will operate on select sections.

Harbour Line Mega Block Timings

According to Central Railway, the mega block will be carried out on the Up and Down Harbour Lines between Kurla and Vashi.

Block timing: 11:10 am to 4:10 pm

The maintenance work is part of routine infrastructure upkeep aimed at ensuring the safety and reliability of suburban train operations.

Trains That Will Remain Suspended

During the block period:

  • Down Harbour Line services towards Vashi, Belapur and Panvel departing CSMT between 10:34 am and 3:36 pm will remain suspended.
  • Up Harbour Line services towards CSMT departing Panvel, Belapur and Vashi between 10:17 am and 3:47 pm will also remain suspended.

Special Train Services

To minimise inconvenience, Central Railway will operate:

  • Special local services between CSMT and Kurla
  • Special local services between Vashi and Panvel

These services will remain available throughout the block period.

Alternate Travel Arrangement

Harbour Line passengers have been permitted to travel via Thane–Vashi/Nerul during the disruption. The alternative travel arrangement will be available between: 10:00 am and 6:00 pm. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly.

No Block on Other Mumbai Suburban Lines

Railway authorities have confirmed that there will be no scheduled daytime mega block on the following lines:

  • Western Line
  • Central Main Line
  • Transharbour Line
  • Uran Line

However, Western Railway will undertake a night block between Vasai Road and Vaitarna, which will not affect daytime suburban services.
