A BEST bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a car driver near Dadar Tilak Bridge on Sunday evening following a dispute over giving way on the road. The car driver allegedly overtook and stopped the bus before assaulting its driver. The driver later approached Shivaji Park Police Station, where further investigation is underway.
A Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport (BEST) bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a car driver near Mumbai’s Dadar Tilak Bridge on Sunday evening, September 6, following an argument over giving way on the road, according to a report received by BEST authorities. The incident occurred around 7.30 pm on September 6 while the bus was operating on Route C-40/33.
The Wet Lease bus, numbered 8215 (MH-01-EM-9332), was travelling from Sewri Bus Station towards Dindoshi when the alleged assault took place, Mid Day reported. Car Driver Allegedly Stopped Bus, Assaulted Driver
According to the report, the car driver was travelling behind the bus and allegedly became upset after the bus driver did not give way. The car driver reportedly overtook the bus before stopping his vehicle in front of it near Tilak Bridge. The driver then allegedly got out of the car and physically assaulted the BEST bus driver. The circumstances leading to the confrontation and the exact nature of the alleged assault are being examined. Following the incident, the BEST bus driver reported the matter to Shivaji Park Police Station.
