Mumbai: Security Guard Arrested for Se*ually Assaulting 7-Year-Old Girl Inside Building In Paydhuni

Police have arrested a residential building security guard for the alleged s*xual assault of a seven-year-old girl in south Mumbai's Paydhuni area. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, July 12, sparked intense local protests and a brief road blockade outside the local police station. According to police officials, the victim entered a washroom inside her residential building when the security guard stationed there followed her inside and assaulted her. The minor sustained injuries during the attack and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where she remains under medical observation.

Following the incident, local residents and relatives of the victim gathered outside the Paydhuni police station on Sunday to demand immediate and severe action against the accused. The gathering quickly grew into a large demonstration, with protestors blocking the main road and halting vehicular traffic in the vicinity. Police personnel managed to clear the road blockade and restore traffic flow after interacting with the crowd and explaining the formal legal procedures being taken against the accused. A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and the suspect is currently being questioned in custody.
