Mumbai will face a 16-hour water cut in Khar, Bandra, and Santacruz from March 28-29 due to BMC pipeline work. Supply will remain shut or low in several areas. Residents are advised to store water in advance and take precautions as services normalise after the upgrade work is completed.
Mumbai, March 25: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a 16-hour water supply disruption in several parts of the H-West ward, including Khar West, Bandra West, and Santacruz West, on March 28 and 29. The planned shutdown will begin at 11 PM on Saturday and continue until 5 PM on Sunday as part of infrastructure upgrade work.
According to officials, the water cut is necessary to facilitate the installation of a 750 mm diameter main pipeline at the junction of Ramdas Naik Marg, Swami Vivekanand Marg, and R.K. Patkar Marg in Bandra West. This development aims to strengthen water supply to the Pali Hill reservoir and improve long-term distribution across the region.
