Police conducted simultaneous raids on 12 hotels and guest houses in Nagaur city on Tuesday, July 14, detaining 15 people amid suspicions of illegal activities, including possible immoral acts and violations of lodging regulations. A widely circulated video from the operation shows a man fleeing a hotel room naked as authorities arrived. The action followed complaints about suspicious activities at these establishments and came a day after three Bangladeshi women and one woman from Bihar were found at a hotel in nearby Kuchaman City.

Coordinated Raids Across Multiple Areas

Teams comprising police, DST and QRT units targeted locations along Bikaner Road, Bus Stand Road, Delhi Darwaza and other parts of the city, ETV Bharat reported. The operation lasted three to four hours, during which officers searched rooms, examined records and verified identities of those present.

According to Dainik Bhaskar, cops seized mobile phones, entry registers and identification documents for further scrutiny. Preliminary findings suggested that some establishments were allegedly facilitating contact between customers and women brought in from outside. City Police Officer (CO) Jatin Jain stated that authorities had received long-standing complaints regarding unethical activities and illegal lodging practices in these hotels and guest houses. He emphasized that the raids were part of efforts to address these issues.

The operation is linked to the recent Kuchaman incident, where suspicions arose that Bangladeshi women may have entered India illegally through border areas. Investigations are examining possible connections between the Kuchaman case and Nagaur establishments.
