The scheme also has limits on the number of eligible complaints and rewards.

Each vehicle registration number can receive only one reward during the campaign. Additionally, only one report per toilet facility will be considered each day. If multiple complaints are submitted about the same toilet on a particular day, only the first valid photograph will qualify.

NHAI will reject duplicate, edited or previously submitted photographs. Images must be clear, geo-tagged and time-stamped to qualify for verification. The authority will use AI-based screening and manual verification, wherever required, to assess submissions.

What Is the Objective of the NHAI Cleanliness Campaign?

The Clean Toilet Picture Challenge is part of the government's broader efforts to improve hygiene and the overall experience of National Highway travellers.

Other initiatives under the cleanliness campaign include repairing potholes, cleaning toll plaza toilets, improving road safety signage, beautifying flyovers and removing encroachments along National Highways.
