A 35-year-old man in Telangana's Nizamabad district, who survived an alleged attempt on his life after being pushed from a terrace, was later allegedly killed by his wife while undergoing treatment, police said. Investigators arrested the woman, her alleged lover and another accused, alleging they conspired to murder him after viewing him as an obstacle to their relationship.

According to police, Prasanth (35), who worked in a Gulf country, died under suspicious circumstances on June 30. His mother filed a complaint on July 1, stating that she was unaware of her son's recent visit home and expressing suspicion over the role of his wife, Sandhya (32), in his death. Police said their investigation, supported by technical evidence, revealed that Sandhya was allegedly in an illicit relationship with Anil (35). Investigators believe the two conspired to eliminate Prasanth, whom they considered an obstacle to their relationship. According to police, the pair allegedly enlisted the help of Venkata Sai to carry out the plan.
Police alleged that on June 29, Sai visited Prasanth's residence, made him consume large quantities of alcohol and later took him to the terrace of a building. Acting on instructions from Sandhya over the phone, Sai allegedly pushed Prasanth from the terrace. Although Prasanth sustained serious injuries, he survived the fall and was initially admitted to a government hospital. Police said he was later shifted to a private hospital before being brought back home.
According to the police, after Prasanth returned home, Sandhya allegedly injected toilet cleaner and an anaesthesia medicine into him through a cannula while he was still receiving treatment. Investigators further alleged that she pushed him from the cot, leading to his death. Police said the alleged acts were carried out after encouragement from Anil.
Following the complaint lodged by Prasanth's mother, investigators examined technical evidence and questioned the suspects. Police said the accused voluntarily admitted to their roles during the investigation. Sandhya, Anil and Venkata Sai were arrested and produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody. The investigation is ongoing.
