Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut has raised questions over the alleged disappearance of a four-kilogram silver brick donated by his party for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) MP Sanjay Raut has raised questions over the alleged disappearance of a four-kilogram silver brick donated by his party for the construction of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Taking to social media platform X, the Rajya Sabha member demanded a thorough investigation and full accountability from the temple trust regarding the status of the donation.
According to Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray had contributed ₹1 crore along with the sacred silver brick during the early phases of the temple's construction. The donation was reportedly made in the presence of thousands of party workers and spiritual leaders. Who Are the 8 Accused Arrested in Ayodhya Ram Temple Donation Case?.
Raut expressed concern that years after the contribution, the party has received no official receipt or formal tracking update from the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. "Where has it gone? Time for full investigation & accountability!" he stated in his post.
The development follows a broader political offensive by Raut against the central leadership, where he alleged that no decisive action would be taken against individuals linked to financial irregularities involving temple offerings.
The row intensifies amid an ongoing legal crackdown regarding temple funds. On Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh government directed authorities to register a First Information Report (FIR) against several individuals under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for the alleged embezzlement of donations. The accused include Anukalp Mishra, Lavkush Mishra, Avinash Shukla, Tinnu Yadav, and Manish Yadav. ‘No Receipt or Update From Trust’
The official probe was initiated after former Samajwadi Party MLA Pawan Pandey alleged that between ₹7 crore and ₹7.5 crore in donations had been misappropriated from the temple. In response to these growing claims, the Uttar Pradesh government set up a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) on June 14 to investigate the financial management of offerings at the Ayodhya shrine.
