The victim, identified as Guddi Devi, a resident of Ramesh Nagar originally hailing from Kanpur Dehat in Uttar Pradesh, was admitted to Park Hospital on GT Road on July 24 following a road accident. According to her family, she was hospitalized strictly for orthopedic treatment. However, her son, Kuldeep, alleged that hospital staff informed them the next day that a heart procedure had been performed and a stent implanted without their knowledge or consent. Kuldeep further alleged that the hospital forged family members' signatures on required consent documentation and performed an unnecessary intervention that directly contributed to his mother's death. The family also accused hospital officials of intimidation when questioned about the incident.
Following a formal complaint, the Sector-29 Police Station in Panipat booked the treating medical team under Sections 106 (causing death by negligence), 318(4) (cheating), and 351(2) (criminal intimidation) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Woman Dies After Heart Stent Done During Leg Fracture Treatment
Police officials confirmed that the body has been sent for a post-mortem examination, which will determine the exact cause of death and guide further legal action. When contacted for comment, Park Hospital CEO Sapna stated that the management would address the allegations in due course. The police investigation remains ongoing.
