The Pimpri Chinchwad Fire Brigade deployed multiple fire tenders to bring the blaze under control. The incident affected several 22-kV high-voltage lines supplying electricity to Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL), resulting in outages across large parts of the region.

MSETCL and MSEDCL officials are working to restore electricity supply. Officials are isolating the fire-affected section of the substation while attempting to resume operations in the unaffected sections. The 220-kV Chinchwad substation is a key transmission facility supplying power to distribution infrastructure in the Pimpri-Chinchwad region. The exact cause of the blast and the extent of damage to the electrical equipment are yet to be determined.
Further restoration efforts will depend on the assessment of the damaged equipment, officials said.
