The performers at the Delhi event were seen wearing outfits featuring prominent saffron shades while singing devotional songs. PM Modi attended the programme wearing an orange waistcoat over a white kurta-pyjama.

PM Modi Pays Tribute To Deendayal Upadhyaya
Earlier in the day, PM Modi paid tribute to Deendayal Upadhyaya on his birth anniversary and highlighted his philosophy of ‘Antyodaya’. The Prime Minister said Upadhyaya regarded the upliftment of people at the last end of society as a foundation of nation-building. Modi also called upon citizens to draw inspiration from Upadhyaya’s thoughts and ideals and fulfil their social and national responsibilities. He shared a Sanskrit Subhashitam highlighting the importance of continuous effort, perseverance and dedicated action for success and innovation.
Who Was Deendayal Upadhyaya?
Deendayal Upadhyaya was born on September 25, 1916 and emerged as a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the political organisation that preceded the Bharatiya Janata Party.
He was associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and founded the monthly publication Rashtra Dharma in the 1940s. Upadhyaya became president of the Jana Sangh in December 1967.
He died on February 11, 1968. His body was found near Mughal Sarai railway station, which was later renamed Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction.
Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Antyodaya Philosophy
The concept of ‘Antyodaya’, which refers to the upliftment of the person at the bottom or last end of society, has been frequently invoked by PM Modi and the Union government in discussions around welfare and development.
In his message on September 25, Modi said the philosophy continues to provide inspiration for public welfare and national development.
