Mumbai, April 3: In a major crackdown on illegal activities, the Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police raided a spa operating in Mira Road East and uncovered a prostitution racket allegedly being run under the guise of wellness services. The establishment, identified as “Tanishq Spa,” was found to be involved in unlawful activities following a targeted operation based on specific intelligence inputs.
The raid was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Rahul Chavan and his team, who conducted the operation with precision. During the raid, authorities rescued 14 women, including both Thai and Indian nationals, who were allegedly being exploited as part of the racket. Officials confirmed that three accused individuals were apprehended on the spot for their involvement in managing and facilitating the illegal activities. A case has been registered at Mira Road Police Station under the provisions of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act (PITA). Police sources indicated that the accused were running the operation discreetly, using the spa as a front to avoid suspicion while conducting illicit services.
Adding to the development, a video of the raid has surfaced on social media, showing police officials entering the premises and carrying out the rescue operation. The footage has quickly gone viral, drawing public attention to the incident and raising concerns about similar illegal setups operating in the region.
