At least two workers died and nine others sustained injuries after a powerful reactor blast triggered a massive fire at a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Telangana's Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district late Friday night. The explosion occurred during a shift change at a chemical factory located in the Pochampally mandal. According to local police authorities, the impact of the blast caused an immediate fire that spread rapidly across the processing floor, trapping several workers who were present at the scene.

Emergency services and fire department tenders were dispatched to the site shortly after the explosion. Firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control following a sustained operation, preventing the fire from spreading to adjacent chemical storage tanks. "Two persons lost their lives in the incident. Nine others were injured, including two workers who suffered over 50 percent burns. Seven workers sustained minor injuries," a senior police official confirmed. All the injured were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals, where the critically burn-injured victims remain under specialized medical care.
