UP: Tantrik Rapes 13-Year-Old Minor Brought for Faith Healing in Banda, Arrested
A 55-year-old tantrik, Parshuram Yadav, was arrested in UP's Banda district on Friday evening for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl brought to him for faith healing by her mother two days ago. Baberu Circle Officer Krishnakant Tripathi confirmed that an FIR was registered at Bisanda police station and the minor has been sent for a medical examination.

The accused, identified as Parshuram Yadav, a resident of Itara Milauli village, was taken into custody on Friday evening from near Pawari village by local law enforcement, PTI reported. Police initiated the investigation immediately after the victim's family reported the assault, leading to formal charges under relevant statutory provisions governing sexual offences against minors. According to Baberu Circle Officer (CO) Krishnakant Tripathi, a woman from the Naraini area had taken her ailing 13-year-old daughter to the occultist two days ago for faith healing.
The tantrik allegedly raped the girl during the visit, taking advantage of the situation when the family sought his intervention. Following the ordeal, the minor informed her mother about the assault, prompting the family to approach law enforcement authorities for legal action.
Following the victim’s complaint, an FIR was registered at the Bisanda police station, the Circle Officer confirmed. Law enforcement teams were dispatched to trace the suspect, culminating in his arrest near Pawari village.
The girl has been sent to a hospital for a comprehensive medical examination, while further legal proceedings against the accused are underway, police said. Investigators are compiling witness statements and formal medical documentation to build the chargesheet against the accused under applicable child protection laws.
