Varanasi: Coffee, Shower and ‘Lungi’ Dance Before Thief Rides Away With Showroom Owner’s INR 4.71 Lakh KTM Bike (Video)

A thief in Varanasi allegedly spent nearly four and a half hours inside a motorcycle showroom, drinking coffee, taking a shower, drying his clothes, playing music and performing a 'lungi' dance before riding away on a brand-new KTM motorcycle worth around INR 4.71 lakh. The unusual break-in was captured on CCTV and has left showroom staff and police investigating the suspect's movements.

The incident took place at a Triumph automobile showroom after staff locked up and left at around 10 pm on Monday, August 10. According to showroom general manager Rohit Kumar Singh, a three-month-old KTM bike, along with its key, had been parked inside. Thief Takes Nearly 36 Minutes To Break In

According to the account provided by the showroom, a young man wearing a white shirt and jeans arrived outside at around 11.30 pm. When it began raining, he allegedly tore down a banner outside the premises and used it as cover.

Coffee, Shower And Music Inside Showroom

Instead of immediately searching for valuables, the man allegedly settled into the showroom. He switched on the computer at the reception desk and spent some time spinning around in the revolving chair. He then took cold water from the refrigerator before making himself a cup of hot coffee.

The man next went to the showroom washroom, where he took a shower. He then spread his wet clothes over a motorcycle to dry. The unusual sequence continued when he allegedly tore open a new motorcycle cover and wrapped it around himself like a lungi. He then played music on the computer and danced inside the showroom for some time.

Changed Into Showroom T-Shirt Before Theft

Before leaving, the man allegedly changed into a branded showroom T-shirt and cap. He then turned his attention to the motorcycle he had apparently come to steal. At around 4 am, he started the manager's KTM motorcycle and rode away from the showroom.

The theft was discovered the following morning when the security guard noticed the shattered glass and alerted the manager. CCTV footage captured the entire sequence, including the man's entry into the showroom and his subsequent movements before he left with the motorcycle. Police and a forensic team reached the showroom and began investigating the break-in.

SHO Ajay Verma said investigators were using CCTV footage and fingerprints to identify the suspect and recover the stolen motorcycle. Police are now working to establish the suspect's identity and trace the stolen KTM. The CCTV footage is expected to be a key part of the investigation.
