Raipur, December 11: Assembly elections in all the state are over and so are the post poll-predictions. Counting of votes in Chhattisgarh is underway. The poll battle in these six constituencies – Ahiwara (SC), Saja, Bemetera, Navagarh (SC), Pandariya, Kawardha – is primarily wedged between the ruling Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), Congress and the BSP-Janata Congress alliance. Ahiwara (SC): For this reserved seat, BJP has repeated its sitting MLA Rajmahant Sanwla Ram Dahre, while Congress has changed their candidate by fielding Guru Rudra Kumar, instead of Ashok Dongre who lost to Dahre by a margin of over 30,000 votes in 2013. Saja: For this seat, BJP has fielded sitting candidate Labhchand Bafna, while Congress has given the seat to Ravindra Chaube. Janta Congress has fielded Teksingh Chandel, while AAP has given the ticket to Ashok Kumar Singhaniya. Check here for live results for Saja.

Bemetera: Here, BJP has fielded sitting lawmaker Awadhesh Singh Chandel, while Congress has replaced Tamradhwaj Sahu with Ashish Kumar Chhabra. Navagarh (SC): In this constituency, a trilateral contest is expected between the ruling BJP, the Congress and the Janta Congress-BSP alliance. BJP has repeated its sitting MLA Dayaldas Baghel, who defeated the individual candidate Derhu Prashad Ghritlahare by a margin of 25,000 votes. Congress has fielded Gurudayal Singh Banjare. Mayawati’s BSP has fielded Omprakash Batchpayi from this seat, while AAP has fielded Anjordas Ghritlahare. Check here for live results for Navagarh.

Pandariya: From this constituency, BJP has fielded its sitting MLA Motiram Chandravanshi, who is contesting against Congress’ Mamta Chandrakar, instead of Lalji Chandravanshi. Chaitram Raj is contesting on BSP ticket. Check here for live results for Pandariya.

Kawardha: For this seat, BJP has repeated its sitting candidate Ashok Sahu, while Congress had replaced Akbar Bhai with Mohammad Akbar. Janta Congress has given the ticket to Agam Das Anant. Check here for live results for Kawardha.

The counting of votes is expected to conclude in the next few hours, with the Election Commission of India scheduled to declare the final results by the end of the day. In case of a BJP victory, Dr Raman Singh would continue to remain the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh. If the Congress succeeds in routing the saffron camp, the party is expected to take a cautious decision on choosing the CM, while BSP-Janta Congress Alliance might choose Ajit Jogi as their CM candidate.
