Counting underway onĀ Dharampuri, Dhar, Badnawar, Depalpur, Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow, Rau seats in Madhya Pradesh.Ā 

Bhopal, December 11:Ā The counting of votes for Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections 2018Ā isĀ underway and the results are expected to be out by afternoon. We are bringing you updates on the results for six MP Vidhan Sabha constituencies - Dharampuri, Dhar, Badnawar, Depalpur, Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow, Rau. It looks like aĀ closeĀ fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress as the exit polls have not been able to predict clearly as to which party will win the battle for MP. While some exit polls have given the BJP an upper hand, others haveĀ indicated at a Congress victory. Voting for theĀ MP Assembly pollsĀ was held on November 28 in a single phase. DharampuriĀ (ST) Assembly Seat

The Dharampuri (ST) seat was won by Kalu Singh of the BJP in 2013. The party has this year fieldedĀ Gopal KannojĀ againstĀ Panchilal MedaĀ of the Congress. Meda had won the seat in the 2008 polls. Other candidates contesting on this seat this year includeĀ Punja BundelaĀ of the BSP andĀ Dr. Mohabbat Singh WaskelĀ of AAP.

Dhar Assembly Seat

The Dhar seat has been a BJP stronghold since 2003.Ā Neena Vikram VermaĀ of the BJP won two elections back to back on this seat in 2008 and 2013. Verma has been fielded by the party this year as well againstĀ Prabha Balmukundsingh GoutamĀ of the Congress andĀ Abdul SalamĀ of the BSP.

Badnawar Assembly Seat

The Badnawar seat was won byĀ Bhanwarsingh ShekhawatĀ of the BJP in 2013. The party has fielded Shekhawat this year as well, against two-time winner (2003 and 2008) from the Congress,Ā Rajvardhan Singh. The BSP has fieldedĀ Samrath Kashyap Dharsikheda.

Depalpur Assembly Seat

The Depalpur seat has been won byĀ Manoj Nirbhaysingh PatelĀ of the BJP in 2003 and 2013. Patel has been fielded by the BJP this election as well, againstĀ Vishal Jagdish PatelĀ of the Congress,Ā Brajesh KannojiĀ of the BSP andĀ Bahadur SinghĀ of AAP.

Dr Ambedkar Nagar Mhow Assembly Seat

The Dr Ambedkar Nagar - Mhow seat has been won by Kailash Vijayvargiya of the BJP in 2008 as well as 2013. The party has this year fieldedĀ Usha ThakurĀ againstĀ Antar Singh DarbarĀ of Congress andĀ Pradeep ChouhanĀ of BSP.

Rau Assembly Seat

The Rau Seat was won byĀ Jeetendra PatwariĀ of the Congress in 2013. The party fielded Patwari this year as well, againstĀ Mahadev VermaĀ of the BJP andĀ Raju YadavĀ of the BSP.
