'File a Case Instead of Issuing Statements': Prashant Kishor's Sharp Take on BJP's Vande Mataram Row (Video)

Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor weighed in on the ongoing political showdown between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress over the Vande Mataram rendition controversy. Responding to questions regarding allegations surrounding the singing of the national song, Kishor stated that legal mechanisms, rather than political statements, should be used if any rules were violated.

"The BJP calls itself the world's largest party, and the Congress is the oldest party in this country," Kishor said. "Now the BJP has made an allegation, and the Congress is capable of responding to it. What do we have to say about this?"

Reflecting on the viral video footage that sparked the dispute, the strategist-turned-politician highlighted that the recording clearly shows the song being performed in full.

"In the video we've seen, Vande Mataram was sung in full. Now, who was stopping it in the middle and who wasn't, only the government would know that; they should find out," he noted. ‘Both Are Capable of Responding’

Kishor pushed back against the practice of using such incidents for political point-scoring, reminding the ruling party of existing legal provisions governing national symbols and songs.

"If the Congress people have really made a mistake, then the government has now made a law that if someone disrespects it, a case will be filed against them," Kishor added. "So instead of issuing statements, the BJP should file a case against Sonia Gandhi."

The controversy erupted following allegations from BJP leaders regarding the interruption of the national song during a political gathering involving senior Congress leadership, including Sonia Gandhi. Congress representatives have dismissed the claims, stating the full song was rendered and accusing the ruling party of stirring unnecessary political debates.
