The Rajya Sabha has been adjourned till 11:00 AM on Friday. A bill banning Triple Talaq was introduced in the Parliament in 2017. This year, a fresh bill banning Triple Talaq was approved to form part of the agenda by the Union Cabinet on June 12.

In his address, President Kovind said, the government will implement NRC on priority. "The government will implement the NRC on a priority in areas where the problem of illegal immigrants in rampant", says President Kovind.
In his address, the President also raises the contentious issues of the National Register for Citizens. "Foreigners entering India illegally are a great threat to internal security. My government has decided that the process of the NRC will be implemented on a priority basis in areas facing the infiltration problem."
President Ram Nath Kovind said the successful test of 'Mission Shakti' has added a new dimension to India's space technology capability and the country's security preparedness. “India’s scientists are preparing to launch Chandrayan 2. Work on sending the first Indian to space is also progressing at a face pace", he said.
During his address, President Kovind said 26 lakh patients benefitted from Ayushman Bharat scheme. “26 lakh poor patients have benefitted from Ayushman Bharat scheme, 1.5 wellness centres likely to function by 2022”, reports news agency PTI.

During his address, President Kovind said this new India will move towards Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore's ideals, where people's minds are fear-free, and their head is high with self-respect.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an all-party meeting said that a committee will be formed to look into the various issues regarding the "one nation, one election" plan, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh informed.
While briefing media after the meeting, Singh added that five major agendas were discussed in the meeting, including the "one nation, one election" plan. He said that members of all the opposition parties present at the meeting supported the idea barring the CPI and CPI-M.
Rajnath further added saying that the celebrations of 75 years of India's Independence in 2022 and Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary celebrations this year were also discussed during the meeting.
