Lucknow, May 23: The results of the Saharanpur Lok Sabha Constituency will be declared today. The counting of votes began on the Parliamentary seat in Uttar Pradesh at 8 AM on Thursday, May 23. Voting took place for the Saharanpur seat in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections on April 11. Saharanpur constituency is one of the eighty Lok Sabha constituencies in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Saharanpur is a city and a Municipal Corporation. Saharanpur city grew in a region named after a Sufi Saint Shah Haroon Chishti. It was founded by Sah Ranbirsingh, a Jain nobleman, who laid the foundations of the present-day city on the site of an army cantonment. The parties declared their candidates from the seat as well as independent candidates filed affidavit. The Congress has declared Imran Masood as its candidate. In the last general elections in the year 2014, Raghav Lakhanpal of the BJP emerged victorious and Imran Masood of the Indian National Congress was the runner-up on the seat. Jagdish Singh Rana of the BSP came at the third spot.

Lok Sabha Elections 2019 took place across the country between April 11 and May 23. While voting took place in seven phases between April 11 and May 19, the General Election results is scheduled to be released on Thursday, May 23.
