The final results of Tumkur City Corporation (TCC) has been declared by the Karnataka State Election Commission. BJP has emerged as the single-largest party, winning 12 of the 35 wards, followed by the JD(S) and the Congress who have won 10 seats each. The remaining 3 seats have been bagged by Independent candidates.
The State Election Commission has declared the official results of 30 out of the 35 wards in Tumkur City Corporation (TCC). While the BJP has been declared the winner from 12, the JD(S) and the Congress are have bagged 9 and 7 seats, respectively. 2 Independents have won, along with 1 from other party. The results of five seats are still awaited.
The BJP, which has been declared the winner in 12 of the 35 wards in Tumkur City Corporation, expects to extend the lead beyond the halfway mark by the time the counting of votes is concluded. The Janata Dal (Secular) and the Congress are ahead on 10 TCC seats each.
The BJP has won the following wards in Tumkur: 1, 4, 6, 14, 15, 23, 25, 26, 27, 31, 32, 34, 35.
After emerging as the second runner-up in the first two-hours of counting, the BJP has shocked pollsters in Tumkur, as the party has been declared the winner on 12 seats. The JD(S), meanwhile, is second with leads on 11 and the Congress is ahead on 9 wards.

Tumkur, Sep 3: The result of Tumkur City Corporation election 2018 will be declared today. Counting of votes for election result of 35 wards of Tumkur City Corporation will begin at 8 am. Polling in all 35 wards of the civic body was held on August 31. The main contest is between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). On August 31, polling was held in 102 urban local bodies across Karnataka. Polling was held in 2,529 wards spread over 29 city municipalities, 53 town municipalities and 23 town panchayats and in 135 wards of three city corporations. Along with Tumkur City Corporation, elections were held in Mysore City Corporation Shivamogga Corporation.
Though the civic election was earlier scheduled to be held in 105 Urban Local Bodies, it has been postponed in three of them — Somwarpet, Virajpet and Kushalnagar — due to onset of heavy rains leading to flash floods in Kodagu district, earlier this month. The outcome will indicate the public perception about the JD(S)-Congress coalition government, led by HD Kumaraswamy, formed just four months back.
