During 16th Lok Sabha polls, Purna Agitok Sangma from National People's Party(NPP) and Daryl William Cheran Momin from Indian National Congress(INC) contested for Tura constituency. The NPP candidate won the seat by a majority of 39,716 votes. Total number of voters in the last general election were 4,58,071, out of which 19,185 voters opted for None of the above(NOTA).
