Malia Obama was spotted vaping an e-cigarette while taking a stroll with her boyfriend in London recently. The former First Daughter was seen smoking after attending a play near London's Tower Bridge with Rory Farquharson. It seemed the public did not recognise the couple as they walked by the River Thames. Last month, the duo were seen stepping out for dinner at Mayfair restaurant C London. Malia met 19-year-old Rory at Harvard University where they study together. The couple held hands as they walked to the restaurant.
Rory caught the media's attention after the couple were seen kissing at a Harvard football game against Yale in November 2017. He is the son of Charles Farquharson, Chief Executive of Insight Investment Management Limited, based in London while his mother Catherine Farquharson is an accountant.
In 2016, videos of Malia puffing on something was viral on social media. She was also spotted puffing cigarette during the Lollapalooza music festival in Chicago. It was also said that she was smoking a marijuana.

After the media covered the episode extensively, US First Daughter Ivanka Trump and former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton, Bill and Hillary Clinton's daughter, came in support of Malia. The women said that Malia should be let to enjoy privacy like kids of her age.

"Malia Obama should be allowed the same privacy as her school-aged peers. She is a young adult and private citizen, and should be OFF limits," Ivanka Trump had tweeted. Chelsea Clinton took to social media saying, "Malia Obama's private life, as a young woman, a college student, a private citizen, should not be your clickbait. Be better."
