On Friday, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) announced the appointment of actor R Madhavan as the President of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Society, also naming him the Chairperson of the governing council. This development comes as the tenure of former president director Shekhar Kapur concluded on March 3, 2023. FTII registrar Sayyid Rabeehashmi confirmed the official decision, stating, "Mr. R Madhavan has been appointed the President of FTII Society and Chairman of the Governing Council," marking a significant change in the leadership of this prestigious institution.
