Late on Monday, a local Congress leader was shot dead at his home in Dala village, Moga district. Baljinder Singh Balli (45), commonly known as 'namberdar' in the community, was shot twice, according to police. One bullet punctured his chest, while the other struck his thigh. Balli was the Congress party's Ajitwal village block president. According to police, two perpetrators arrived on a motorbike.
