The argument escalated, and Jeetu severely beat Chandni, who was hospitalised and later succumbed to her injuries. Villagers accused Jeetu and his friends of gang rape and murder, causing unrest during the funeral proceedings. However, the police stated that the post-mortem report did not confirm gang rape; instead, Chandni's death resulted from head injuries.
