The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday, March 4, said that maximum temperatures are likely to continue to be above normal by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius over many parts of Northwest India and by 2-4 degrees Celsius over Central India during most days of the week. IMD also said that light rainfall/snowfall is likely over Western Himalayan Region between March 7-19 under the influence of a feeble Western Disturbance. "Subtropical westerly Jet Stream with core winds of the order of 105 knots at 12.6 km above mean sea level continues to prevail over Northwest India," the weather agency added. Meanwhile, the weather forecasting service Windy has not predicted any rainfall in Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru for today, March 5. Similarly, no rainfall warning has been issued for Hyderabad, Kolkata and Shimla for Thursday.
