The AI doctored clip was created to spread misinformation, according to the minister. An FIR (No. 123/26) was registered at Chanakyapuri Police Station at 4:35 AM on 25 July 2026. Goyal warned that strict legal action would follow against those involved in creating, circulating or amplifying the fake video. He stressed that the irresponsible misuse of artificial intelligence to mislead the public will not be tolerated and urged people to rely only on verified sources. Goyal expressed confidence that India’s aware and tech savvy citizens, particularly the youth, would not fall for such misinformation.
