Shashank Singh was one of the two retentions announced by Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2025 mega auction. Apart from Shashank, PBKS retained Prabhsimran Singh. Shashank's story is an interesting one. During the IPL 2024 auction the uncapped Indian player was picked by PBKS after some confusion. However, the franchise later clarified that Shashank was picked intentionally and there were no second thoughts about him. He was referred to as an "accidental player" thereafter and dished out some superb performances for PBKS. Now after being retained by PBKS, Shashank has vowed to repay the faith.
