She secured sixth place finish in Heat 1 of the 100-metre breaststroke in Paris. According to the Paraguayan Olympic committee head, Alonso didn't spend a night inside the games village and her presence is creating 'inappropriate environment' within the contingent. As a protest to her expulsion, Luana Alonso has retired from representing Paraguay in Swimming.
