The Indian singles tennis star did well to take the 18th seeded player till the tie-breaker but ended up losing the contest. Sumit Nagal had earlier famously entered the second round of Australian Open earlier this year.

Sumit Nagal's French Open 2024 challenge came to an end after he suffered a defeat to Karen Khachanov in the first round on Monday, May 27. Khachanov defeated Nagal 6-2 6-0 7-6 (5) to eliminate him from the competition. Nagal's exit from the French Open 2024 signalled the end of India's challenge in the men's singles category at the Roland Garros this year. Nagal had earlier made it to the second round of the Australian Open in 2024, becoming the second Indian to win a match against a seeded opponent at a Grand Slam.
