That's It! Mumbai Indians literally got to nowhere in the second half of the chase and except for Suryakumar Yadav, everyone struggled to get going on this pitch as the GT seamers continued to pepper them with change of pace and cutters. Hardik Pandya played an agonising knock and in the end MI fell into a big hole. They have now lost two games in a row and will need something to turn around soon.

Out! Robin Minz cannot cut loose and Sai Kishore shows him the way to the pavilion. Stays on the off with Minz looking to take him on but miscues the ball straight to the hands of short third man. Out! A struggling innings from Tilak Varma comes to an end. He started very well in the powerplay but kept struggling as soon as the GT bowlers went for the off cutters which were gripping. After two early jolts by Mohammed Siraj, both Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma led the Mumbai Indians' fightback. Both batters are finding boundaries, which has kept the required run rate in check. Gujarat Titans need a breakthrough; otherwise, Tilak and Suryakumar will take the match away from them.

Mumbai Indians have been dealt with two early blows, and it's none other than speedster Mohammed Siraj who has done the damage to them. The visitors are in their rebuilding phase with two of the finest batters at the crease at the moment. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav will be key for the five-time champions in the middle phase of the match.

Out! Mohammed Siraj strikes again and this time it is Ryan Rickelton. The struggle for Rickelton ends. He was facing trouble to find timing and has went for the cut only to find no room and has dragged back the ball on his stumps. Siraj is on a roll here.  Rickelton b Siraj 6(9).

Out! Sai Kishore is run out trying to sneak in a single for a bye in the last ball and Ryan Rickelton nails the throw to dismiss him. A good last over from Satyanarayana Raju where he got the slower ones on point. Earlier, Deepak Chahar bowled a good over and GT kind of lost momentum at the end. Out! Wickets are falling in a heap for Gujarat Titans. They lost three wickets in three balls of two different overs. Sherfane Rutherford was the last one to depart as he thumped one straight to the hands of the long off as Deepak Chahar foxed him with the change of pace. Out! Rahul Tewatia departs without facing a ball. He didn't face a ball and was dismissed run out due to Hardik Pandya's brilliance. Earlier, Sai Sudharsan was trapped LBW by Trent Boult with an inch-perfect yorker which also tailed a little back. GT stumbling while looking for a big finish. Rutherford c Santner b Chahar 18(11).

Out! Shahrukh Khan perishes after a solitary six. Tries to take on Hardik Pandya's back of length delivery on the onside but the ball goes flat and straight into the hands of Tilak Varma in the deep sweeper cover. Out! Jos Buttler falls trying to go for the big shot. Throws his hand on the delivery from Mujeeb Ur Rahman on the offside but gets a faint nick on the way to the hands of Ryan Rickelton who takes a good catch. Despite the wicket, GT need to accelerate here. Buttler c Rickelton b Mujeeb 39(24).

Some steady batting from the partnership of Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler as the duo keep playing risk-free cricket to take the GT innings forward. Buttler has been the aggressor and Sai has held the innings together. They will look to accelerate now. 

Out! Hardik Pandya gives MI their first breakthrough. The pressure was building on GT as they didn't get any boundary in the overs following the powerplay. Hardik goes into the pitch and Shubman times the pull shot straight into the hands of the deep square leg. Shubman Gill c Naman Dhir b Hardik Pandya 38(27).

A solid powerplay comes to an end for Gujarat Titans. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have looked good and without much risk they have piled up a good total on the board. Both are well set here and will look to add more gears to their innings when they enter the middle overs. 

Shubman Gill becomes second fastest batter to get to 1000 runs at a venue in IPL. He achieved the feat in only 20 innings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Gujarat Titans are off to a confident start. The GT openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan have played some brilliant shots without much risks and helped their team get off to a solid start. They will look to maximise the powerplay and make it big.
