India have gone 1-0 up in the three-match series, with Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan powering the visitors to a win in IND vs AFG 1st T20I 2026 at Delhi. Sharma scored a sensation 82, while Kishan scored a brisk 42, helping Men in Blue chase down 157 runs with 6 plus overs to spare. Afghanistan folded for 156, with Arshdeep Singh doing the most damage with 3 wickets. For home-side Afghanistan, Azmatullah Omarzai toped scored with undbeaten 64, with veteran contributing with a solid 33.

Azmatullah Omarzai scored an unbeaten 64 off 44, that helped Afghanistan get past 150, with contribution from veteran Mohammad Nabi. For India, Arshdeep Singh claimed three wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel and Varun Chakaravarthy picked one apiece.

50! 50-run stand between Azmatullah Omarzai and Mohammad Nabi, who have added fifty run in merely 45 balls, that too, without taking any risks. Omarzai has been the aggressor, while Nabi is playing the sheet anchor role. 

For Afghanistan, the onus lies on the veteran Mohammad Nabi and young all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai to guide their team past this tough patch. India have managed to maintain a strangle hold over Afghniatan by claiming wickets at regular intervals.

OUT! Axar Patel gets his first wicket and Gulbadin Naib has to walk back for 2. An absolutely poor shot by Naib, who found a leading edge towards point, where Nitish Kumar Reddy took a sharp catch running back. 

OUT! Arshdeep Singh gets his first wicket, and the well-set Sediqullah Atal has to walk back for 13 off 13. A soft dismissal, with Atal trying to guide the ball towards guly region, hands a simple catch to Bumrah.

Sediqullah Atal and Ibrahim Zadran have made a solid comeback into the match for Afghanistan, with both batters playing aggressive shots.However, a mixup between batters saw Ibrahim Zadran get runout at the non-strikers' end, who looked for a cheeky double, but perished.

Interestingly, the man of the series from India's last T20I series, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has been dropped from the XI, with veteran Sanju Samson returning to the top. 

Shreyas Iyer has maintained that Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Thakur are not in the XI.
