“Criticising national policies, doesn't make me anti-national,” this hard-hitting dialogue from Shoojit Sircar’s 2013 political spy thriller film Madras Cafe rings into my ears every time someone is shut down if trying to point out the shortcomings of our country. Called anti-national or non-Indian has become a norm in our nation in the present day but thanks to Braveheart influential figures such as Saina Mirza who know how to shut up bigots like a boss. The star Indian tennis player was called an ‘non-Indian’ by a Twitter troll after Sania posted her thoughts on the sickening Kathua and Unnao rape-murder cases.

She rightly voiced her opinion on the rape and murder of an innocent eight-year-old girl belonging to Bakherwal Muslim nomads and the rape of a teenager allegedly by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar. The father of girl in Unnao rape case died in the police custody after being brutally beaten by alleged rapist Sengar’s brother. These chilling details must be boiling your blood but not if you are a miscreant troll like the one Sania faced recently. Nevertheless, the douchebag of a person did not realise who he was dealing with and was taught a good lesson by Indian tennis queen. Brutality Of Kathua Rape Case Shows Chilling Similarities With Nirbhaya Case of 2012 But There Are Crucial Differences, Not Good Ones.

It began with Sania Mirza expressing her horror against the inhumane rape-murder case of eight-year-old  in Kavictimthua district. Saina shared a screenshot of The New York Times that ran the story of Kathua rape case with a headline, "In India, the rape and murder of an 8-year-old has led to protests by Hindu nationalists - coming to the defense of the accused [sic]." Sonam Kapoor, Richa Chaddha, Abhishek Bachchan: Bollywood Celebs Condemn the Brutal Murder

Sainas’ tweet reads, “Is this really the kind of country we we want to be known as to the world today?? If we can’t stand up now for this 8 year old girl regardless of our gender, caste, colour or religion then we don’t stand for anything in this world.. not even humanity.. makes me sick to the stomach [sic].”

Saina did not stop at the barbaric Kathua rape and murder case but went on to also tweet about the heinous alleged rape of an 18-year-old by BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar in which the teenage girl’s father died in police custody. She writes, “Justice needs to be done ... for the sake of keeping our faith in the judiciary and the system alive .. I really hope and pray justice is done .. and soon.. #UnnaoHorror #UnnaoRapeCase [sic].”

No sane person would disagree with Sania Mirza's words. But then it's internet and that is infested with mindless, spineless trolls hiding behind their keyboards. One such proud representative of troll body on the micro-blogging platform happens to be Kichu Kannan Namo who goes by the handle @Kichu_chirps on Twitter. His bio reads, "Lyricist, Writer BJP SM coordinator. Leo. Nationalist, India Foundation Member #Modibhakt followed by @PiyushGoyal" puked venomous reply on Sania Mirza's original tweet.

"With all respect madam which country are you talking abt.Last time I checked u had married into Pakistan. You no longer are a Indian. And if u must tweet thn also tweet for the innocents killed by Pak terror outfits..[sic]" writes the empty-headed user. He tweeted Sania Mirza to have no rights on speaking about the rape case as she is no more an Indian as she is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik! Well, Twitter has a big heart to give space to such bigots but Sania Mirza was having none of it as she blasted the man for his filthy comments.

"First of all nobody marries ‘into’ anywhere .. you marry a person! Secondly NO LOW LIFE like you will tell me which country I belong to.. I play for India,I am Indian and always will be.. nd maybe if u look beyond religion and country one day you may just also stand for humanity! [sic]" This was Sania Mirza's reply to the man who clearly needs a lesson on humanity and keep his poisonous remarks to himself!
